Personalised Anniversary Gifts

You say you have a friend with a 25th wedding anniversary coming up?  The Silver Anniversary, custom dictates that gifts be silver.  Wow.. that narrows it down quite a bit doesn't it?  I'm mean, a giant comforter, or toaster is just not going to get it done, is it ?

You can browse the local merchants, but I can save you the time and tell you what you'll find, a silver platter, a silver cake knife, a sliver frame, and that's about it.

No for this kind of thing you need to go online and find a gift you can personalise with a message from you and your significant other.  I found several options at www.national-engravers.com.  They have tons of silver plated gifts for men and women, all of which can be engraved with your message.

I chose a four piece wine glass set with embedded Swarovski crystals.  It came packaged in a nice satin gift box and I had 'Sarah and William, 1987' etched in the glass which was the year they were married.  I liked that it was a set of four rather than two so it was more likely they could actually use them for company. 

A close second was am 8" x 6" silver plated photo frame.  Yeah, I know I said your could find them at a local merchant, but this one I could have had a message engraved along all four sides.  I've seen those before, and if the right font is chosen, they are very elegant.  But in the end, the wine glasses won out only because they seemed more unique.  Yeah, I know they are not silver, so shoot me.  If you real want to stick with the silver theme, check out there silver plated wine flutes, or the crystal champagne flutes with interlinked silver plated hearts.  I think they look quite elegant.  All of these flutes can have a message engraved on them to personalise the gift.
